A police detective took to the stand to testify in a hearing about Anna Nicole Smith's drug use - and revealed the horrific final days of the former Playboy Playmate.
Smith's former lover Howard Stern and his associates Dr. Khristine Eroshevich and Dr. Sandeep Kapoor, have been charged with conspiracy to dope up the blonde bombshell with prescription drugs.
All three have denied the charges, but California Department of Justice narcotics investigator Danny Santiago told prosecutors in a Los Angeles courtroom on Tuesday (13Oct09) that the star was ailing so badly towards the end of her life, her aides were feeding her drugs in a baby's bottle.
Santiago testified that Smith was in a coma-like state leading up to her death in a Florida hotel in 2007, with her bedsheets covered in faeces, and when police found her she was "unresponsive, her lips were blue and her skin was beginning to be discoloured."
He also revealed seven types of prescription drugs were found in the room, with some made out to pseudonyms of Stern's name.
Larry Birkhead, father of Smith's daughter and Stern's former love rival, has been subpoenaed to testify in the criminal case.
