Rising star Anna Faris credits Lost In Translation director Sofia Coppola as the reason her performance in the quirky comedy is so calm and confident.

The 27-year-old actress admits she was struck down by nerves before she started filming on the movie - which also stars Bill Murray and SCARLETT JOHANSSON, but puts her good work down to Coppola's laid back working environment.

She says, "Sofia would drink wine before shooting, which I'd never seen a director do. There was no studio head looking over her shoulder so she let me do whatever I wanted.

"When I was shooting it, I was really anxious. I thought I was doing way too much. I thought I was too clown-like for the movie, but I think it worked out okay."
