Soul diva Anita Baker horrified organisers of last night's (30SEP04) Music of Black Origin (MOBO) Awards - by refusing to accept her Lifetime Achievement Award from Janet Jackson, insiders claim.

The SWEET LOVE singer complained the pop superstar would upstage her, but put a brave face on-stage with the DAMITA JO star after the event's organisers threatened to axe the prestigious award, reports Britain's DAILY MIRROR newspaper.

An insider says, "Anita was really angry Janet was presenting her award. The organisers spent ages calming her down. We think she just didn't want to be upstaged. There's also the fact that in the US, Janet is still associated with the 'Nipplegate' blunder at the SUPERBOWL. In the end Anita gave in and, through gritted teeth, agreed to it."
