Angus And Julia Stone
Private Lawns is the new single from Angus & Julia Stone released on June 18th 2007 on Independiente. Private Lawns is playfully delivered with an endearing theme, a cheeky, wide-eyed appraisal of urban living, it is fitting - given Julia's subtly theatrical performances - that the song should borrow it's opening lyric from the Broadway musical Calamity Jane. With it's fanciful skipping arrangement and a dusty trumpet solo from multi-instrumentalist Julia, it is the first single release to feature Julia on lead vocal.
The Angus penned track Mango Tree - taken from this years mini-album Heart Full Of Wine - propelled The Stones onto the 6Music playlist, garnered support from Zane Lowe and Jonathan Ross, and secured live sessions for Mark Radcliffe and Johnny Walker at Radio 2 .
Mango Tree will be made available as a Free Download on iTunes on June 5th.
