Actress and humanitarian Angelina Jolie has received a special gift from Iraq's Foreign Minister in recognition of her activism.

The Salt star has been touring the Middle East to draw attention to the plight of those who have escaped from war-torn Syria during 18 months of bloody fighting between rebels and government forces.

She headed to an Iraqi refugee camp on Saturday (15Sep12) to visit those seeking asylum from the violence in her role as a United Nations Goodwill Ambassador and also met with Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari in Baghdad, where Jolie was handed a red box containing a symbolic gift to thank her for her philanthropy.

Her current tour has also included similar stops in Jordan and Lebanon.
