Angelina Jolie has officially been unveiled as the new face of Louis Vuitton, with a sneak peak of the actress's first ad released today (12th June 2011). Angelina Jolie features in the 'Core Values' campaign, which sees her afloat on a raft in Cambodia's Siem Reap province, reportsWwd.com.
Reportedly wearing her own clothes and carrying her own Vuitton bag, Jolie sits peacefully cross-legged on the boat. The company's executive vice-president Pietro Beccari said, "People are not used to seeing Angelina in this situation. I like the fact that it's a real moment. This travel message we give through personal journeys is a fundamental one for the brand. This campaign is about a very special person and a very special journey". Cambodia is the country from which Jolie adopted her son Maddox, and where she and partner Brad Pitt later established a foundation. The actress follows a broad group of luminaries who have posed for the 'Core Values' campaign, including astronauts Buzz Aldrin and Jim Lovell, politician Mikhail Gorbachev, singers Madonna and Jennifer Lopez and the actress Scarlett Johansson. Jolie's ad will debut in Wednesday's issue of the International Herald Tribute, before running in various publications for the next 18 months.
Meanwhile, Angelina Jolie is expected to begin work on David Fincher's forthcoming biopic 'Cleopatra', about the last pharaoh of Ancient Egypt and militarily tactician who embarked on a ruthless and bloody rise to power.
