Angel Haze, AlunaGeorge and Rudimental were forced to pull the plug on performances at BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend festival in Northern Ireland on Friday (24May13) following flight disruptions at London's Heathrow Airport.

Air traffic control officials shut down two runways after an emergency plane landing, and a number of flights were delayed as a result of the chaos.

Rita Ora, J Cole and Jessie Ware were reportedly among those left stranded with AlunaGeorge, Angel Haze and Rudimental, but they managed to make alternative plans.

A Bbc spokesman says, "Unfortunately, due to the travel disruption affecting Heathrow we've had to cancel a few performances but we've still got an exciting line-up for our audiences."

Friday night's headliner Calvin Harris did make it to the festival site without any problems and Biffy Clyro, The Vaccines, Bruno Mars, Paramore and Vampire Weekend's weekend sets will not be affected by the travel drama.

Meanwhile, among those who did manage to make it to the festival on time, rapper Dizzee Rascal wowed fans when he brought Robbie Williams onstage for a rendition of their collaborative single Goin' Crazy.
