Andrew Lloyd Webber's lavish musical Bombay Dreams will end its Broadway run on New Year's Day (01JAN05), after a disappointing performance at the box office.

The Bollywood-style show has reportedly recouped nowhere near the estimated $14 million (GBP7.3 million) which was invested into it when it made its way from London to New York.

The show, which currently features former American Idol finalist TAMYRA GRAY, will have played 284 performances when it ends. Producers still plan to take the show on the road.
