The new version of A Star Is Born revolves around a wannabe singer who moves to Hollywood and is discovered by an alcoholic and troubled rocker. Lady Gaga is taking on the part of the singer, played by Judy Garland and Barbra Streisand in the 1954 and 1976 films, respectively, and Andrew will reportedly play her character's father, Lorenzo, in the remake - if he signs on.

According to Deadline.com, Cooper will play the ageing rocker, while Sam Elliot has also signed on to portray the manager of Gaga and Cooper's characters. The movie is slated to start filming in Los Angeles next month (Apr17).

The project will also mark Bradley's directorial debut, and Gaga can't wait to get started on it.

"Bradley Cooper is amazing to work with. He's so talented. He's so fun. He's really my friend. And it's so good to have someone that you're friends with that kind of knows what your life is like, and is in the public eye," Gaga said during an interview with New York-based radio DJ Elvis Duran in September (16).

But there will be no bad romance on set with her director, who is a father-to-be.

"I already love everyone and the idea is, if you really love somebody, you put the most important thing first and that is the film," the singer told radio shock jock Howard Stern. "The truth is, what's most important to me is that we tell a story that touches the hearts of millions of people that come to see it."

The movie is slated to hit theatres in September, 2018.
