A film about the life of larger-than-life actor Andre the Giant is in the works.
The biopic is based on the graphic novel biography Andre the Giant: Closer to Heaven, which was published last year (15).
Andre's daughter, Robin Christensen-Roussimoff, agreed to give producers Scott Steindorff and Dylan Russell exclusive rights to her father's story and she will also serve as a consultant on the film.
"I'm really excited to watch this story come to life on the big screen," Christensen-Roussimoff said in a statement. "It's been a labor of love for everyone involved, and we’re really looking forward to making it available to a larger audience."
The graphic novel recounts the late star's early life, working on his family farm in France, his rise in professional wrestling and his acting career.
He is best known for playing a key role in beloved 1987 fantasy comedy The Princess Bride, in which he portrayed bandit Fezzik.
Andre passed away from congestive heart failure in 1993.
