The 48-year-old singer stripped off for the cover of Fault magazine in November (16), bearing the scars from the surgery she underwent following her second breast cancer diagnosis in 2013.

With words written across her skin, such as 'I'll be stronger', Anastacia says it was something she felt obliged to do after her brave journey.

"It was the last hurdle of the mastectomy process," she said on U.K. talk show Lorraine on Wednesday (14Dec16).

"The scars came right down here (pointing to her back) as they had to do a skin graft to make a nipple. I needed to come clean and show people and do it my way. My scars are like a road map but I wanted to show other women that that's OK."

Host Lorraine Kelly then asked the I'm Outta Love hitmaker how she found the strength to fight the disease, which the musician put down to maintaining a good sense of humour and trying to stay positive. She also came up with a powerful spin on the word cancer itself, adding: "I always say there are only three important letters in 'cancer'. C-A-N. Because I can."

Anastacia recently appeared on British TV competition Strictly Come Dancing, using the platform to help raise awareness for the illness she battled. Busting out her best moves also helped the star find her "inner female" and she can't wait to return for the finale this weekend (17-18Dec16).

"All the rejects and losers get to go back. It makes me feel so much better about being ousted," she laughed.
