Amy Winehouse's husband Blake Fielder-Civil has hit out at judges of the Mercury Music Prize, insisting the singer was "robbed" of the $40,000 (GBP20,000) award.
The Rehab star made a surprise comeback appearance at Tuesday (04Sep07) night's London awards ceremony, but the prestigious gong was eventually given to rockers the Klaxons.
Fielder-Civil says, "Amy was robbed. Who knows why they didn't give her the award. But I was so proud of her for her performance.
"She's really well and she doesn't need to go back into rehab."
The singer has been taking time out from her music career to focus on "health issues" following her August (07) hospitalisation after three days of hard-partying.
