EVANESCENCE singer Amy Lee went retro for her 21st birthday celebrations, by hosting entertaining her pals with '80s music.

The BRING ME TO LIFE singer welcomed her landmark birthday on 13 December (02), and decided she'd use it as an opportunity to pay homage to the decade many people love to hate.

Lee, who counts '80s movie star Corey Feldman as her most embarrassing celebrity crush, says, "For my 21st birthday, my parents helped me throw a roller-skating party, and (Evanescence guitarist) BEN (MOODY) made three CDs full of cheesy '80s music. I got to request my favourite stuff - Wham!, Paula Abdul's STRAIGHT UP.

"We have after-parties following our shows, and I always turn them into '80s parties."
