Bollywood superstar Amrish Puri died from a brain haemorrhage last night (11JAN05) at the age of 72.
The veteran actor was rushed to a Mumbai, Bombay, hospital yesterday afternoon with a cerebral blood clot caused by a fall at home, but he died hours later leaving behind a wife, a son and a daughter.
Puri made his movie debut at the age of 40 in 1971 movie RESHMA AUR SHERA and became famous for playing villainous characters in more than 200 Bollywood films throughout his 30-year career.
He is best known in the west for playing high priest MOLA RAM in STEVEN SPIELBERG's cinema classic INDIANA JONES AND THE TEMPLE OF DOOM.
