British actress Amanda Donohoe walked away from the lead role in a new movie, because producers couldn't afford to pay her.
The former LA LAW star was due to star alongside Jennifer Love Hewitt and Dougray Scott in THE TRUTH ABOUT LOVE - which wrapped yesterday (24MAY04) - but dropped out at the last minute after the film was hit by changes in British law governing the funding of movies shot in the UK.
Donohoe, 42, says, "I had a lead role, but when it came to signing, I decided I couldn't. There were financial issues and scheduling difficulties."
Members of cast and crew sacrificed their wages until $1.8 million (GBP1 million) in alternative funding could be found.25/05/2004 13:54
