The U.S. pop punk act's sixth album, Future Hearts, has beaten off challenges from James Bay and Ed Sheeran to claim the top spot on the Official Charts Company countdown.

A statement from the band reads: "This is a huge surprise! We didn't expect this kind of reaction to the album and we couldn't be happier. After so many years together, we never want to let our fans down, and this feels like a massive achievement on their part as much as ours."

Meanwhile, Jess Glynne has kept a charging Nick Jonas from the top of the pop singles chart.

Years & Years' King, James Bay's Hold Back The River and Bloodstream by Ed Sheeran round out the top five.
