Alison Pill – the star of Aaron Sorkin’s new drama ‘The Newsroom’ – tweeted a nude photo of herself to 15,000 Twitter followers on Wednesday (September 12, 2012). Predictably, her digital following as since swelled considerably – she now boasts 25,000 online fans.
According to the New York Daily News, Alison tweeted a photograph of herself lying on a bed wearing nothing but thick-framed glasses. Though she quickly realised her massive error and deleted the image, the snap became readily available across the Internet. The 26-year-old owned up to her mistake immediately, tweeting, “Yep. That picture happened. Ugh. My tech issues have now reached new heights, apparently. How a deletion turned into a tweet... Apologies.” It was equally embarrassing for boyfriend Jay Baruchel, though the actor seemed to find the whole thing pretty amusing, saying, “My fiancee is an hilarious dork. imjustgladitdidnthappentomefirst. Smartphones will get ya.” After receiving an outpouring of support from his followers, Jay tweeted, “You guys have shown the missus and I a lot of love and it is appreciated.”
Pesky Twitter users had a field-day with her whole situation. One said, “The Alison Pill debacle should be a lesson to us all: Never buy glasses that are too big for your breasts.”
