Alice Temperley feels like her new London store was meant to be.
The designer recently opened her flagship shop in the Mayfair district of the UK capital and she says it's exactly how she pictured it would be.
She said: ''Weirdly, when I was 14 or 15, I had tear sheets that I kept inside an interiors scrap book and Poiret's shop front from the 20s was in it. I look through that book whenever I'm working on interiors references, which I was for this store. The front shop window of our new store is almost identical to Poiret's - there's the black and the gold. It's strange the way the mind stores things and for that reason I love it - it feels like it was supposed to be.''
Alice says she's worked hard to get where she is and is proud to show off her designs in her own store.
She told vogue.co.uk: ''Over the past 10 years, we've really learnt what the brand is all about and we want to showcase the world of Temperley in our beautiful, beautiful store.''
