Actor Alfonso Ribeiro has undergone an Mri (magnetic resonance imaging) scan after suffering a back injury during rehearsals for U.S. reality show Dancing With The Stars.

The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air star is a favourite to win the latest series of the ballroom dancing competition, but he reportedly had to cut short a practice session with his professional partner Witney Carson on Wednesday (12Nov14) after hurting himself during a routine.

He skipped another rehearsal on Thursday (13Nov14) to seek medical attention for the ailment, which has allegedly caused him trouble walking, and doctors are said to be monitoring Ribeiro closely to determine whether he will be able to return to the dance floor ahead of the live semi-finals on Monday (17Nov14), according to Tmz.com.

The news emerges weeks after Ribeiro suffered a groin injury while reprising his Tv character Carlton Banks' signature awkward dance moves on Dancing With the Stars last month (Oct14).
