Alexis Neiers, the 19-year-old American reality star, has been sentenced to a year in residential rehab, just months after being convicted of burgling the house of Hollywood actor Orlando Bloom, reports the Press Association.
Neiers is best known for her appearances on the E! reality show 'Pretty Wild', which follows a group of teenage girls as they make their way into the Hollywood social scene. She was told by a Los Angeles Superior Court judge that the rehabilitation would be her last opportunity to receive treatment for her 'long-term heroin addiction'. The 19-year-old was arrested at her home on December 1st 2010 for possession of black-tar heroin and drug paraphernalia, and she was also found to be holding a fake Florida driving license. Police were first alerted when Neiers failed to check in with them following her release from prison - she had served 180 days for the burglary of Bloom's L.A. home.
Prosecutor Chris Baker had asked for two years in prison because Neiers had failed to report to probation officials or pay restitution to Bloom, but the judge stated that rehab was the best option in preventing the 19-year-old from developing a "life-long addiction".
