The cage fighter - who is now in a relationship with British reality TV star Chantelle Houghton - has admitted he has strong feelings for the former glamour model even though she has publically stated she doesn't care about him anymore.
He said: "I still love her, even though recently she said she didn't love me."
He cryptically added: "Katie and I aren't divorced yet. I wouldn't go back but I'd go forward with someone. Read that how you want."
In the wake of the split Alex moved back in with his parents Carole and Bob at the family home in Aldershot, Hampshire.
Carole has revealed her tough guy son struggled to cope in the initial months after the break-up, and she would often hear him crying in his room.
In a joint interview with Best magazine, she said: "He's tough on the outside and squidgy on the inside. When Alex and Katie broke up in January this year and he came home again it was awful to see him so upset. It was hard hearing him cry, as he doesn't like to show emotion in public. I'd hear him sobbing in his bedroom. I don't miss Katie, I didn't form a strong Bond."
Gritty and involving, this small British thriller is like Memento crossed with The Bourne Identity...
