The 30 Rock actor, who has also guest-hosted the programme more than any other star, took on the role of Trump on Saturday (01Oct16) in a parody of last Monday's (26Sep16) presidential debate.

Baldwin, who has reportedly been practising his Trump impersonation over the summer (16), mocked the billionaire turned politician's performance in the debate, which he was widely perceived to have lost to Democratic Party rival Hillary Clinton.

The lengthy SNL skit took aim at Trump's struggles with a sniffle during the TV face-off, his blaming of his defeat on a broken microphone and his strange pronunciation of China.

Baldwin also poked fun at Trump's attempts to describe Clinton as temperamental - by hinting his accusations might be more applicable to himself.

"She's the one with the bad temperament," Baldwin's Trump said during the sketch. "She's always screaming. She's constantly lying. Her hair is crazy. Her face is completely orange, except around the eyes where it's white."

Ghostbusters star Kate MCKinnon played Hillary Clinton during the debate skit, mocking questions about the politician's health by collapsing on stage only to tumble into a forward roll in a manner reminiscent of Gene Wilder's Willy Wonka in the 1971 film Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory.

Donald wasn't the only member of the Trump family to be ribbed on Saturday's season premiere, as guest host Margot Robbie played his daughter Ivanka in a sketch based on U.S. TV show Family Feud.

Comedian Larry David also appeared in the skit as Clinton's defeated Democratic Party primary opponent Bernie Sanders.

Baldwin will continue to appear as Trump on SNL episodes in the run-up to November's (16) presidential election.
