Albert Finney is refusing to go back on his self-imposed OSCAR ceremony boycott - even though he's a hot favourite to receive a nomination next year (04).

The British star has been nominated five times in the Best Actor and Best Supporting Actor categories, and is again tipped to receive Academy recognition for his performance in the upcoming Big Fish alongside Ewan McGregor.

However, Finney, 67, remains disinterested in attending the glitzy bash in Los Angeles.

He explains, "It's a long way to go for a very long party, sitting for six hours, not having a cigarette or a drink. It's a waste of time."
