Aerosmith rocker Steven Tyler has checked into rehab in California at the age of 60.
The singer's drug issues in the 1970's and 80's have been well documented, but it was thought that he had been clean for over 20 years.
However, the father of actress Liv Tyler is now reported to be struggling with an unspecified substance abuse problem.
According to US Magazine, Tyler, once known along with guitarist Joe Perry as 'The Toxic Twins', has checked into Las Encinas Hospital in Pasadena.
The clinic is used as the setting for American reality TV show Celebrity Rehab.
Tyler was diagnosed with Hepatitis C, which can be contracted from drug paraphernalia, in 2003, but is now free of the disease.
AEROSMITH have had a hugely successful career, especially after their resurgence in the late 1980's, which saw them go on to release albums such as PERMANENT VACATION and PUMP.
