British singer Adele is stunned with her latest tax bill - because she has to hand over millions.
The Rolling in the Deep hitmaker's success means she has to pay more than her friends to the U.K. taxman - and she admits she was furious when she first learned of what she owed for the most recent tax year.
She tells Q magazine, "I use the Nhs (National Health Service), I can't use public transport any more, doing what I do, I went to state school, I'm mortified to have to pay 50 per cent.
"Trains are always late, most state schools are s**t and I've gotta give you, like, four million quid? Are you having a laugh?"
"When I got my tax bill in from (first album) 19 I was ready to go and buy a gun and randomly open fire."
