N-Dubz rapper Dappy is to shock his fans by releasing a ballad inspired by songstress Adele and pop star Robbie Williams.
The hip-hop star has recently gone solo while the band is on hiatus, and now he's concentrating on showing off his vocal skills with the help of Adele's songwriting partner Eg White, who co-wrote her hit track Chasing Pavements.
Dappy, real name Costadinos Contostavlos, is determined to take a different musical direction, and he's even planning on showing off his voice over a piano melody.
He tells Britain's Daily Mirror, "I'm going to work with Eg White who does Adele's stuff. I want a big ballad like her. She really inspired me.
"I've got a voice so I want to make sure I do something huge on the piano. I want to do an 'Angels' like Robbie Williams.
"Lots of people who rap get people to sing on their hooks, but when I release my stuff they won't be able to do that anymore. They'll have to sing on the record by themselves. They can't get Chris Brown or whoever to do it for them. They have to sing and rap on the track themselves as that's what I'm doing. I'm M-singing not MCing."
