Adele is up for six Grammy Awards.

The 'Rumour Has It' singer is up for three of the biggest awards of the night, Record Of The Year and Song of the Year for single 'Rolling in the Deep' and Album Of The Year for '21'. She also has nominations in the Best Pop Solo Performance, Best Pop Vocal Album and Best Short Form Music Video.

The only artist to trump Adele in the nomination stakes was Kanye West, who gained seven nods with

His single 'All of The Lights' up for Song Of The Year, Best Rap/Sung Collaboration and Best Rap Song, while his track 'Otis' - with Jay-Z - picks up two nods in the Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song categories.

Kanye also has two nominations in the Best Rap Album category, for his 'My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy' record and his 'Watch The Throne' collaboration, a joint project with Jay-Z.

Foo Fighters also have six nominations including Album Of The Year and Best Rock Album for 'Wasting Light', Best Rock Performance for single 'Walk' and Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance, for 'White Limo'.

Bruno Mars' single 'Grenade' picked up three nominations, for Record Of The Year, Song Of The Year and Best Pop Solo Performance, while his 'Doo-Wops & Hooligans' album is up for Album Of The Year and Best Pop Vocal Album.

After hearing of the nominations he tweeted: "I've been trynna think of something clever to say. But the only thing that comes to my mind is - FRIKIKIKIKI!! We Did It! (sic)"

Surprises of the nominations include a relatively low number of nods for two of the biggest selling artists of the year, Lady GaGa and Taylor Swift, who released their 'Born This Way' and 'Speak Now' albums respectively, but gained only three nominations each.

After hearing of her nominations, Gaga tweeted: "I'm humbled and honored to have a Trinity of nominations from the Grammys, including Album of the Year for Born This Way. I love u so much (sic)."

The 54th Annual Grammy Awards will take place at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on February 12th 2012.
