British singing sensation Adele is hoping she misses out on the four Grammy Awards she has been nominated for, because she'd rather strive and struggle for success, than win everything with her very first album
The 20-year-old shot to fame in 2008 with debut LP 19, which was well-received on both sides of the Atlantic, earning her nominations in the Record of the Year, Best New Artist, Best Female Pop Vocal Performance and Song of the Year categories.
But she insists she won't be nervous at the 1 February (08) ceremony, because she isn't ready for such a huge accolade.
The London-born star says, "I imagine it's like winning an Oscar and I don't think on this record I should get one. I think it should be with my second or third record that I should get the Oscar, like from your third or fourth film when you're amazing.
"If I won one, it would be really important to me but I can't even think about that. Sorry, it's making my heart race really fast. It would be lovely to get one but I don't feel like I need awards and stuff to feel good about my music. I can't see how this album life span could get any better and I don't feel like it needs to be. I'm already over the moon and blown away with people's response to it."
