Adam Sandler is set to receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in Los Angeles this morning (1st February 2011)
ADAM SANDLER, the 44-year-old American actor and comedian, will join the biggest names in the world of cinema when he receives a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame this morning (1st February 2011), reports CBS Los Angeles.
Sandler, whose movies have grossed more than $3 billion worldwide, will be the recipient of the 2,431st star on the Walk of Fame and the ceremony is set to begin at 11.30am. Sandler's new movie 'Just Go With It', in which he plays a plastic surgeon who pretends to be married in order to attract woman, is set to be released on the 11th February 2011. The film also stars Jennifer Aniston and Nicole Kidman. Sandler began his career in comedy when he landed a recurring role on 'The Cosby Show' in 1987 and was eventually hired as a writer on Saturday Night Live in 1990 before making the move into feature films. The actor has starred in some of the most successful comedy films in history, including 'The Wedding Singer', 'Big Daddy', Happy Gilmore', 'Anger Management' and more recently '50 First Dates' and 'The Longest Yard'. His latest movie 'Grown Ups' is the highest-grossing of his career, taking over $271 million worldwide.
Sandler follows legendary Hollywood star Donald Sutherland, who was honoured with a star on the Walk of Fame last week (26th January 2011).
