AC DC drummer Phil Rudd has pleaded not guilty to possessing drugs and making a threat to kill.

The rock veteran entered the pleas via his lawyer at Tauranga District Court in New Zealand on Tuesday (02Dec14) following his high-profile arrest last month (Nov14).

Rudd was excused from appearing at the court in person.

His lawyer Paul Mabey, Qc, formally entered not guilty pleas to charges of threatening to kill and possessing methamphetamine and cannabis.

Rudd is due to stand trial next year (15). He was originally charged with attempting to procure the murder of two men but that was dropped due to lack of evidence.
