AC DC star Malcolm Young will not be returning to his role in the rock band as he continues to fight an ongoing illness.
The Highway to Hell hitmakers announced in April (14) that guitarist Young was stepping down from the band to concentrate on his treatment for an unspecified health problem.
The news sparked rumours of an impending split, but the group has shot down the gossip by announcing details of a new album, titled Rock Or Bust, which is due for release in December (14).
However, the record will be the first in the band's history not to feature Young, and now the band has announced the rocker - whose brother Angus Young is Ac Dc's lead guitarist - will not be returning to the line-up due to his condition.
A press release from their record label states, "Earlier this year, Ac Dc released a statement explaining that due to illness, Malcolm would be taking a break from the band. Unfortunately, due to the nature of Malcolm's condition, he will not be returning to the band."
Rock Or Bust is Ac Dc's first album since 2008's Black Ice.
