US rapper 50 Cent will be releasing his third album Curtis on June 25th, marking the return of Eminem's favourite protege.

50 Cent, real name Curtis Jackson, has achieved great success since emerging onto the US hip-hop scene with the 2003 album Get Rich Or Die Tryin'.

The follow up to the star's debut, The Massacre, has since gone seven-times platinum and also became the largest selling rap album in India.

50 Cent's new album features the typical all-star guest list, including his mentor Eminem, Akon, Justin Timberlake, Mary J Blige, Robin Thicke and Nicole Scherzinger, of Pussycat Dolls fame.

The first singles to be lifted from the new album will be Straight to the Bank and Amusement Park.

50 Cent has had a rather mixed life, shot nine times in April 2000 in front of his grandmothers in Queens, New York, and then dropped by his record label.

Eminem then picked him up and publicly endorsed him as being one of his favourite rappers.

Consequently 50 Cent has gone on to become one of the biggest hip-hop stars in the world.
